Coconut Chutney as the name suggests is made with Coconut as the main ingredient and can be served as a side for Idli, Dosa, Vada etc

  1. Grind all the ingredients Coconut, Green Chillies, Ginger, Shallots and Salt to a coarse consistency adding some water.
  2. Add more water if required and make the chutney to a loose consistency.
  3. Transfer to a clean bowl.
  4. Now heat oil in a kadai.
  5. Add Mustard seeds and wait for it to splutter.
  6. After it splutters, add Red Chillies and fry till it is crisp
  7. Add Black Gram Dhall and let it brown.
  8. Add Curry Leaves and mix well.
  9. Remove from flame.
  10. Add to the Chutney and mix well.
  11. Coconut Chutney is ready to serve.
